Mouna Mekouar

Mouna Mekouar is an independent curator and art critic based in Paris. She held curatorial positions at Centre Pompidou Metz (2008-2010) and at Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2011-2013). She curated several exhibitions, among which: Infans – Isabelle Cornaro, Fondation Pernod Ricard (2021); Bert Flint, Musée Yves Saint Laurent, Marrakech (2020); Luogo e Segni, co-curated with Martin Bethenod, Punta della Dogana, Venice (2019); Garden of Memory (2018) with Etel Adnan, Simone Fattal, Bob Wilson; Christo: Femmes 1962-1968, Musée Yves Saint Laurent, Marrakech (2019); Phillipe Parreno. Anywhere, anywhere out of the world, Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2013); Tino Sehgal à Marrakech, a unique project unfolded on the Jemâa el-Fna square in Marrakech (2016). She curated solo shows with younger artists such as Basma Al Sharif (2016, Rencontre d’Arles), Meriem Bennani (2016, PSA, Shanghai), Hicham Berrada (2013, Palais de Tokyo). She has published numerous essays and regularly collaborates with specialised magazines.
